Laredo, TX — The Jerry Garza for County Judge campaign proudly hosted its "Growing Movement" press event on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., bringing together members of the media, elected officials, and community leaders.
The event was emceed by Jose Luis "Bird" Rodriguez, who opened the program by welcoming attendees and recognizing distinguished guests. In his remarks, Rodriguez highlighted the significance of the event and the continued momentum behind Jerry Garza's campaign.
During the program, two of Garza's former opponents in the Webb County Judge's race publicly endorsed him. Karina "Kari" Elizondo, Laredo College Trustee, took to the podium first:
"He deserves to win this election because he has worked tremendously, and he has the experience to lead this county in the direction we would like to see it prosper." — Karina "Kari" Elizondo, Laredo College Trustee
Raul Reyes, Webb County Treasurer, also endorsed Jerry, emphasizing the need for strong and unifying leadership:
"We need leadership that is steady. We need leadership that understands the responsibility and weight of this office. We need leadership that brings people together, not divides them. After many conversations and deep reflection, I am proud to officially endorse Jerry Garza for Webb County Judge." — Raul Reyes, Webb County Treasurer
Following the endorsements, Jerry Garza took the stage to address attendees, expressing his gratitude for the growing support and outlining his commitment to serving the community. He acknowledged both Elizondo and Reyes:
"Seeing you both out there every single day, you ran your campaigns with love for Webb County. Raul reminded us what it means to put people first, and sometimes we forget that. Karina challenged us to always put progress over politics — those weren't just campaign slogans, they were values that matter." — Jerry Garza
Garza also spoke directly to their supporters, adding, "I see you, I respect you.." , and I want each and every one of your supporters to know that you have a place in this campaign. Everyone who wants to be part of it is welcome, because your voice matters, your opinions matter, and your concerns matter."
Following the formal program, Garza took photos with Elizondo, Reyes, and supporters in attendance.
